General Requirements

   Import and Export

General Requirements for Export and Import licences-Companies and other Private entities:

  • Signed application letter on the company letterhead, addressed to the Secretary for Industry and Commerce
  • Copies of Company documents ,CR14/6/5, Certificate of Incorporation
  • Copy of Valid Tax clearence certificate
  • Copy of Current Standard Development Levy receipt
  • Copy of Proforma Invoice / Export Invoice

   

General Requirements for Import and (exports) licences- Individuals:

  • Signed application letter adddressed to the Secretary for Industry and Commerce
  • Pro-forma Invoice
  • Copy of Identity Card

   

General Requirements for Imports and (exports) - Government Ministries and Departments:

  • Signed application letter on the Ministry or Department letterhead,addressed to the Secretary for Industry and Commerce
  • Pro-forma Invoice

   

General Requirements for Imports and (exports) - Non-Governmental Organization,Voluntary Organization and others of the same characteristic:

  • Signed application letter on the Organizations' letterhead, addressed to the Secretary for Industry and Commerce
  • Registration documents of the organization
  • Pro-forma Invoice
  • Support letter from the relevant Government Ministry or Departments for goods meant for donation

   

NB: Other supporting documents maybe needed to complement client's explanation in the application letter. The clients have to attach them to reinforce their claim. These documents should be from credible istitutions such as Government Ministries,Departments,Agency,Financial Institutions among others.

These Requirements may change from time to time.

   Export Licence Application

Clients also need to attach addition documents depending on what they want

  • 1.Exporting second hand industrial equipment - additioanal Requirements are:
    • Evidence that the client failed to secure buyers locally.The client has to attach newspaper article, showing that the company has advertised the equipment locally.
    • Evidence that the equipment was not procured under Government support facilities eg, Duty rebate, VAT deferment among other forms of support.
    • Address and contact of the importing and exporting company and the focal persons involved.
  • NB: A company visit will be contacted by the Ministry to access equipment

   




  • 2. Exporting Pharmaceutical products, Plastic products - additional Requirements are:
    • An export permit from the Ministry of Health and Child Care through the Medical Control Association of Zimbabwe (MCAZ).
    • Address and contact of the importing and exporting company and the focal persons involved.

   




  • 3. Exporting Agricultural and agriculture related products (fertilizer,gypsum,sugar), additional requirements are:
    • Support letter from the Ministry of Agriculture,Land,Fisheries,Rural Resettlement for fertilizer and gypsum.
    • Sugar export licenses are only issued to known exporters from sugar producers.

   Import Licence Application

The Requirements for an import licence are just the same as the general Requirements stated above in General Requirements.

   Licence Application

Import and export license applications can be done manually(manual application) by submitting hard copies at the Ministry reception on the 13th floor or through online (e-licencing) using the link >>>E-Licence

   Manual Application

Clients only makes manual applications on:

  • Export of equipment,pharmaceutical goods, fertilizer, sugar.
  • Appeal after an initial rejection.
  • Imports for second hand clothing, shoes, maheu, yeast, cement, second hand motor vihecles.
    • NB: Manual application are not encouraged ; The Ministry is fully migrating towards e-licencing

   E-Licence Application

All other applications other than those stated in Manual Application are done through the e-licence platform E-Licence platform
