   Single Window

The term Single Window is being used to describe a multitude of different platforms, systems and environments, and the use is not limited to the trade context.

The most commonly accepted definition of a SW is the one provided by UNECE Recommendations No. 33. It describes the SW as a ‘facility that allows parties involved in trade and transport to lodge standardized information and documents with a single entry point to fulfill all import, export, and transit-related regulatory requirements.’ ‘If information is electronic, then individual data elements should only be submitted once’.

   What is ZeSW?

Zimbabwe electronic Single Window (ZeSW) is a one-stop electronic platform for registered users to lodge import and export trade documents with the Government of Zimbabwe.

ZeSW will be implemented in three phases. The trading community will be informed of the official launch of the system.

   Do i pay?

The registration and subscription to online services in ZeSW is free of charge. However, fees are charged for certain trade documents (applicable to both paper and online submission).

   What are the requirments ?

You are recommended to access ZeSW by using the following browsers and software (Recommended browsers).

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11 or above
  • Google Chrome version 70 or above
  • Mozilla Firefox version 63 or above

   Who should register?

An individual or company/organisation which would like to:

  • submit the trade documents through the online services in the ZeSW; and/or
  • verify the validity of electronic licences/permits

   Implementation of ZeSW

The ZeSW was launched on 10 June 2022 at a flamboyant hotel in Harare and it is going to be implemented in Phases. The first phase with Port Health is expected to kick off by mid-year 2023.

   Who owns ZeSW?

The ZeSW is a government trade facilitation initiative, which aims to improve the easy of doing business in Zimbabwe and is implemented by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.

   Objectives of ZeSW?

The ZeSW aims at easing trade through providing a platform that requires no paperwork, less transaction costs, and faster processing time.

   Which Agent is on ZeSW?

None, the first agent will be Port Health by Mid-year 2023

   Who is eligible to use ZeSW

All government ministries and agencies involved in trade will be added to the ZeSW in the near future.

   Who is Funding ZeSW ?

The ZeSW is funded by Government of Zimbabwe through Ministry of Finance and Economic development
